That was the best swim of the season so far! Of course it helped having perfectly flat conditions. The temperature has dropped a little – Claire estimated around 15c but still we had 7 swimmers go in including Kirsten from Invercargill enjoying her first open water swim. (Sorry Jackie, I have to butt in here! I also estimated 400m, but it turned out to be about 800! Don’t go by mad Irish woman estimates!) Liz gave it a go, but realised the swimming wetsuits are an essential item for our conditions in Lake Wanaka. But in the immortal words of Arnie, “she’ll be back!”

Looking forward to seeing the photos from yesterday’s excursion down the Clutha River. It was great fun and I was very happy to have Zelda and Ruby join us.
